Sky Juice – a Bahamian Tradition

Mason jars are optional

One drink that I would always order for guests when they came to visit me in the Bahamas was Sky Juice. It’s a coconut and gin based drink that will knock your socks off, and it is not hard to make at all. The version I make is closer to Gullywash – the Freeport version of Sky Juice.

The ingredients are as follows:

1/3 cup of sweet condensed milk

1/2 cup of coconut milk

1/2 cup of Bombay Sapphire gin

1 cup of coconut water

1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 clove head crushed

A bit of fresh nutmeg

Combine them all in a blender (it’s just easier in a blender as the condensed milk is quite thick).

Serve over ice in a fancy glass, with a sprinkling of toasted coconut on top.
