The Open Water part of the IE took place at Jules’ Undersea Lodge. It’s an interesting location as the lodge is an underwater “hotel” and you have to be a certified scuba diver if you want to stay in it.
Anyway back to the topic in hand, the last day of the IE.
07:30 – Arrived at Jules’ Undersea Lodge. Set up equipment and got ready to enter the water.
08:00 – Gave Briefing of the skills that we would do on the dive.
09:00 – Started Rescue Demonstration PASS (they only give a pass or fail no score on this one)
10:30 – Into the water and it’s time to do the lesson portion of the dive.
10:55 – Out of the water and it’s time to prepare the debrief.
12:00 – Debriefs start.
12:30 – I finished my debrief and was given my score for both my skills –
- Tying a Bowline 5/5
- CESA 5/5
13:30 – Presentation of certificates.
I am so pleased that I have finally passed. I can’t believe that I have finally made it. This has been a dream of mine for over a year now and I have finally made it. Everyone on the IE passed. Apparently that is unheard of but it’s a great result.
Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way I really appreciate it.
Now, who wants to learn to dive?
